PCE in Drinking Water Linked to Increased Risk of Mental Illness

 

Early childhood exposure to water contaminated with the solvent tetrachloroethylene (PCE) increases the risks of bipolar disorder and post-traumatic stress disorder, a new study by BU School of Public Health researchers has found.

Study Finds New Genetic Loci Associated with Menopause Onset

 

An international team of researchers from the BU Schools of Public Health and Medicine and other institutions has uncovered 13 genetic loci, linked to immune function and DNA repair, that are factors in the age of onset of menopause.

Internet Methods Conference in Wales

 

A two-day conference on internet methods in epidemiology is being held at the University of Cardiff, Wales on April 17 – 18, 2012. The conference is being jointly organized by the Universities of Cardiff, Boston, Swansea, and Aarhus, Denmark.
