Welcome

Welcome to the new Faculty Development website!

We consider this website to be permanently under construction.... just like Massachusetts' roads! We have decided to bring this to you with our best first efforts, but we know that it will be much more useful for faculty with your ongoing input ...to learn of new faculty development programs, to assess the utility of existing programs, to hear your ideas about what is missing, and to share literature or ideas you have found helpful in developing your careers.

How can you provide feedback?

We will incorporate your ideas - with your name if you permit us or as aggregated, anonymous and edited suggestions if you do not wish to be identified. You may also contact us through more direct phone or email options. Send us your comments, questions and suggestions here.

Special features of the website

Feature one arises from a comment at dinner with colleagues from around the country a few years back: "What I wish I knew when I was 35." You can pick the age, but share your story and your wisdom!

A second feature is "Need a Tip/Share a Tip" for all those myriad frustrations you encounter in trying to get your work done each day and the creative solutions you have found. We will feature a "tips box" so that you can quickly find what fellow faculty are concerned about/want to share.

We plan an Accolades section, so let us know your latest accomplishments...or embarrass a colleague by sending in information on theirs!

Our plans to make the site more accessible

To make all the collected information usable, we are writing "scenarios" that bundle development opportunities in teaching and research for various career stages.

Finally, we will be visiting your departments to demonstrate the website and how we envision its use. We want this to be a time-saving resource you turn to time and again.

See you soon!
