Robert Meenan is Dean and Professor of Health Policy and Management at Boston University School of Public Health. He also serves as Professor and Chairman of the Department of Socio-Medical Sciences and Community Medicine and as Professor of Medicine at Boston University School of Medicine.
Dean Meenan serves on the Board of Trustees of Regis College, the Board of Directors of Massachusetts Blue Cross Blue Shield, and as Vice Chairman of the Board of the Massachusetts Blue Cross Blue Shield Foundation. He has been on the BU faculty since 1977, and he has directed the School of Public Health since 1992. Prior to becoming Dean of the School of Public Health, he served as Arthritis Section Head and Director of the NIH-funded Multipurpose Arthritis Center in the School of Medicine. His professional interests focus on the management of academic institutions, and his research has focused on outcome measurement and health economics as related to chronic diseases. The recipient of many research grants, Dr. Meenan has published more than 100 peer-reviewed articles and has given numerous invited lectures worldwide. He received an MD from Boston University School of Medicine, an MPH in health planning and administration from the School of Public Health at the University of California, Berkeley, and an MBA in health care management from the Graduate School of Management at Boston University.
