Biography

Alison Burke Albers is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Social and Behavioral Sciences at the Boston University School of Public Health. Previously, Dr. Albers was a postdoctoral research fellow at the Center for Survey Research, University of Massachusetts, Boston. Her work focused on the relation between psychosocial risk factors and adolescent smoking behavior; the impact of tobacco advertising on young adults; and adolescent and young adult involvement in tobacco advertising promotions. Dr. Albers is currently a co-investigator on a Flight Attendant Medical Research Institute (FAMRI) grant (PI Dr. Michael Siegel), which explores ways to protect workers and the public from secondhand smoke, with a specific focus on the impact of clean indoor-air policies on smoking behaviors among adults.
