  • Most students have prior professional experience related to public health and health sciences.

  • Boston University MPH students are required to complete an approved, planned, and supervised practicum.
  • The project must provide a challenging professional experience for a graduate student (responsibilities can include some clerical work, but it should not be a major focus of the experience).
  • Students must complete a minimum of 112 hours of work at their practicum sites.
  • Students are required to have a foundation in the field of public health (minimum of 12 graduate credits) before starting their practicum.
  • Practicum positions can be paid or unpaid.
