Aga Khan Foundation The Aga Khan Foundation provides a limited number of scholarships each year for postgraduate studies to outstanding students from developing countries in financial need. The scholarships are awarded on a 50% grant and 50% loan basis through a competitive application process. The Foundation prives priority consideration to students completing masters level coursework, but will also consider applications for doctoral programs. The deadline for submission of applications is March 31, although in certain countries internal deadlines may be earlier. Albert Schweitzer Fellowship Each year, the U.S. Schweitzer Fellows Program competitively selects approximately 200 exceptional students from the nation's top health and human service schools to follow in Dr. Albert Schweitzer's footsteps. The Boston Schweitzer Fellows Program is a one-year interdisciplinary, mentored fellowship program focused on health-related community service and leadership development. Since the program’s inception, Schweitzer Fellows in Boston have worked tirelessly to address health disparities and the social determinants of health throughout the greater Boston and Worcester areas. Applicants must be enrolled as students from April 2012-May 2013. Applicants receive a stipend of $3,000 over the course of their fellowship. Applications will become available mid-Fall. Alpha Kappa Alpha Educational Advancement Foundation Alpha Kappa Alpha offers Merit and Need based awards to qualified students who have demonstrated continued community service and involvement or demonstrate significant financial need. Diversified Investment Advisors Leaders in Healthcare Scholarship Available to first and second year graduate students who are pursuing degrees in healthcare administration or comparable degree program (i.e., MBA, MPH, MHA, MPA, MSN, or BSN). Individuals must demonstrate financial need, a commitment to community service and excel academically (minimum 3.0 GPA). Candidates for the 2012 Scholarship Program must be a member of a federally classified ethnic minority group. The award for this scholarship totals $5,000. Application deadlines for the 2012 Scholarship Program is January 31, 2012. Roberts Scholarship The Elliot C. Roberts Scholarship recognizes graduate student leaders who represent ethnically diverse cultural backgrounds and is name in honor of one of the country’s leading public hospital administrators, Mr. Eliot C. Roberts, Sr. This scholarship is available to second-year graduate students who demonstrate a commitment to community service, excel academically (minimum 3.0 GPA), and who demonstrate financial need. Candidates for the 2012 Scholarship Program must be a member of a federally classified ethnic minority group and have proof of U.S. citizenship. Application deadlines for the 2012 Scholarship Program is January 31, 2012. This scholarship provides awards of $1,000. The Iris-Samuel Rothman Scholarship This scholarship, in honor of a promising young man who died at age 22, is for a young man who has lost his mother, and either has lost his father or does not have a father available to him. This scholarship is for college bound high school students, undergraduates, graduates, or post graduate students seeking further education, wanting to do volunteer work, seeking employment, or starting a business. The award amount is variable depending on the qualification of the application. Awards range from $1,000 to $10,000. Five scholarships are available annually. Applications are accepted throughout the year. Early applications will receive preference during the review process. Luce Scholars Program The Luce Scholars Program provides year-long internships in Asia. Scholarships are awarded to seniors, graduate students, and alumni under the age of 30 who are citizens of the United States with clearly defined career interests. The scholarship is open to applicants in any field of study. It is not, however, granted to applicants with extensive backgrounds in Asian studies. Scholarships provide: a significant monthly stipend, a cost of living and housing allowance (where necessary), round-trip airfare, air freight, and insurance. National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowships The National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowhips are three-year full fellowships for graduate study leading to research-based master's or doctoral degrees in the areas of science, mathematics, and engineering. NSF Graduate Fellowships are open only to individuals who are, at the time of application, citizens, nationals, or permanent resident aliens of the United States. Eligibility is limited to those individuals who, at the time of application, have completed no more than 20 semester hours or equivalent of graduate study in the fields supported by this program. Simon Fellowship for Noble Purpose The Simon Fellowship is awarded to those graduating college seniors who have demonstrated passion, dedication, a high capacity for self-direction, and originality in pursuit of a goal that will strengthen civil society. The Paul and Daisy Soros Fellowship for New Americans The Paul and Daisy Soros Fellowship for New Americans provides substantial financial assistance to help either a graduating senior or a graduate with a bachelor's degree who possesses a green card, has applied for naturalization, has been naturalized as a US citizen, or is the child of two parents who are both naturalized US citizens to attend or to continue to attend a graduate program (in any field) of an American university. Tylenol Future Care Scholarship The Makers of TYLENOL are offering support to students focused on a career caring for others. In order to apply, applicants must be a resident of the 50 United States, Puerto Rico, or the District of Columbia. Applicants must be enrolled in a program in public health, health education, medicine, nursing, or pharmacy and have completed at least one year of graduate coursework by the Spring 2011 semester at an accredited institution. The applicant must have one or more years of school remaining in his/her program. TYLENOL will award $250,000 in scholarships which includes 10 scholarships for $10,000 and 30 scholarships for $5,000. The application deadline will be posted later in Fall 2011.
