| Framingham Heart Study |
|
This study, which has tracked the health of three generations of residents of Framingham, Mass., since 1948, is responsible for much of what is known about the epidemiology of cardiovascular disease. BUSPH biostatisticians are actively engaged in the Framingham study in a variety of topics including risk factors for cardiovascular disease, dementia and Alzheimer's disease, nutritional epidemiology and most recently how genetic risk factors interact with environmental factors to affect risk of future disease. A number of BUSPH students find work as research assistants with investigators both at the School of Public Health and in Framingham.
