Biostatistics Consulting Group
The Department of Biostatistics and Data Coordinating Center of the Boston Univerisity School of Public Health offers statistical support through the Biostatistics Consulting Group (BCG). This service provides statistical support to researchers at the Boston University Medical Campus and the larger Boston University community.

The BCG is staffed by members of the Biostatistics faculty, who work with and supervise advanced doctoral students in the Biostatistics PhD program.

Researchers interested in utilizing the BCG statistical services should contact us by filling in the online request form. Once a request is submitted, a member of the BCG will respond to the request promptly. An initial consultation to determine the needs of the investigator is provided at no cost. Services are then based on an hourly rate of $150.

  • Protocol development/review
  • Assistance with study design
  • Sample size/power calculations
  • Advice on statistical methods
  • Reviewing statistical methods sections
  • Statistical analysis
  • Interpretation of results
  • Response to manuscript/publication reviewer or referee
Please note that long-term grant collaboration is not supported by the BCG. However, if you are interested in working with a member of the Biostatistics faculty on a long-term project, please contact Lisa Sullivan, PhD, chair, at 617-638-5047.
